THRILL TO LIVE
IN THE REAL WORLD.
In today’s
world, we have numerous friends on Facebook, what’s app, thousands of followers
on Instagram, and how many do we have in a real sense. The ones who visit us, talk
to us, and play with us. We have detached ourselves from the real world and
have addicted ourselves to social media. We have forgotten the importance of
socializing and being connected with other human beings. We welcome a new
friend on social media, but we are reluctant to embrace an old friend in our
homes. We feel it as an interference in our lives. We are afraid to share our
heart out with them. We think of it as the freedom to be staying alone and
doing the things we like to do. But we do forget that we are social animals.
God created us to live together by sharing our joy and sorrows. No wonder
people are drowning in a deep dark well of depression. No wonder suicide rates
have increased to a concerning rate irrespective of an ordinary person or a
celebrity. No, I am not against social media. It is one of the best ways to
connect to people away, the best way to bring old friends together, but it is a
virtual world. Almighty created us to be in touch with the real world too. We
cannot cut ourselves from it.
Even today,
it feels heavenly to sit with friends and chat over a cup of coffee. It feels
celestial to tease siblings and to get yelling from mom. It shows the amount of
love she showers on us. It solaces our souls when we come to know how many
people care about us. It is a thrill to play outdoor games with the kids
around. It is the best stress buster to play with an infant baby. A little time spent with the pet makes us appreciate
how even animals can become tranquil. And just some time spent alone, without
the mobile in hand, meditating and connecting to nature makes us realize what
we were created for? How marvelous is our creation, and how mighty is the one
who created us!!
Undoubtedly,
social media is a boon if utilized rightly. Always distribute the time and give
importance to the things which need our utmost attention. We need to make real
best friends who can stand by us in the time of need, smile at us when we are
gloomy, fight with us over the last piece of pizza, and last but not least,
support us with their whole heart whenever we stumble in the walk of life. All
of this will solve most of the problems we face in everyday life. Let us
conquer our loneliness with the real value of friends than searching for it in the
media. Real friends are forever, whereas virtual ones are short-lived.
